How do I Transfer Administration?

Who owns a Planning Center Account?

Planning Center Online accounts are owned by the Organization they were created for, not the Individuals who created them. When you sign up and create a Planning Center Account, you are made the Organization Administrator automatically. Accounts can have multiple Organization Administrators and Billing Managers. This lesson will walk you through the differences in those permissions, and how to add new people to them.

After signing up, we recommend designating at least one other Administrator that you trust. This lowers the risk of losing control when an administrator leaves the Organization, or is unavailable during an emergency.

When you designate someone else as an Organization Administrator, they will have the same power to add and remove other Administrators (including you) at any time.

Once someone is an Organization Administrator, they can enable, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any of your Planning Center subscriptions.

What if none of the current Organization Administrators are available?

It happens — people switch jobs, go on extended leave, or just take a vacation — the Organization Administrators may be unavailable for any number of reasons. Still, our support team will not be able to add additional Organization Administrators to your account.

If the account has been suspended due to a lack of payment: we’ll be glad to move the account payment date back a week or so, so people can edit and access information.

What if we need to replace an Administrator, and they are unable or unwilling to make the change themselves?

Our support team can help you make this change with the following information:

  • The amount that you are charged
  • the exact day of the month you are charged
  • the last four digits of the credit card we are charging

All of this information must come from a current staff member (preferably someone in a leadership role) at your church, directly from a church email address. Please send these emails to accounts@planningcenteronline.com, along with:

  • The name and email address of the current Administrator
  • The name and email address of the new Administrator
